In Clinton, Missouri, Primitive Olde Crow & Winery has created a unique atmosphere with wine, food, shopping and music, while paying tribute to some of the people who have been part of its journey.
The on-site restaurant serves brick-oven pizzas in three signature flavors, or you can choose your own toppings for the housemade dough. The antique store has locally made goods and gourmet snacks, and there’s even a walk-up counter with ice cream and handmade fudge. If that doesn’t satisfy your sweet tooth, try one of the tempting dessert pizzas such as apple, cherry, peach, Oreo cookie or Nutella-pecan.
However, with “winery” in the name, it’s obvious that this place has plenty of vino worthy of a road trip. Whether it’s the moniker, label artwork or style, every bottle relates to someone who helped start the business. Join a tasting and hear stories about how each person has made an impact.

The Chiller, for example, a semi-sweet, medium-bodied Vignoles with lush tropical fruit notes, is dedicated to Jami, who arrives early to make the pizza dough fresh every day. No matter what happens, Jami remains chill, and her colleagues describe her as their rock. Jami has worked at Primitive Olde Crow & Winery since it opened in 2015, keeping the whole team grounded day after day, and the label of the Chiller features a four-wheeler, a nod to her favorite family hobby.
The wines range from sweet to dry in various styles. Another standout includes the First Responder Moscato; with every bottle sold, the winery donates $1 to local first responders. Varieties from Adam Puchta Winery in Hermann, Missouri, are also available, along with spirits and cocktails from the full bar.
The rustic, open space that makes up the winery is an ideal setting to sip and shop, and thanks to the patio and event rooms, it’s also a place of celebration. Primitive Olde Crow & Winery can accommodate small gatherings as well as weddings with up to 250 guests.
Even if you don’t have a special event on the books, you can enjoy the live music, trivia nights, karaoke, murder mystery parties and educational classes here. There are several big events throughout the year, too, including Fall Fest, the annual Winestock music festival and Independence Day Red, White Wine and Boom.
