Looking for a swanky new spot for lunch or dinner in Clayton? Enter The Capital Grille, which just opened its first St. Louis-area location at 101 South Hanley Road, in the former home of J. Buck's.
The upscale national chain serves a lengthy menu with a focus on dry-aged steaks and fresh, never-frozen seafood. Beef is dry aged for 18 to 24 days in a temperature- and humidity-controlled aging chamber to achieve the ideal tenderness, texture and flavor. Look for filet mignon, bone-in rib-eye, porterhouse and hand-cut New York strip steaks in addition to roasted chicken, lamb chops, pan-seared sea scallops, halibut, fresh lobster and sushi-grade tuna.
A robust selection of soups, salads and starters is also available, including lobster-crab cakes, tuna tartare, a shaved Brussels sprouts salad and a fresh mozzarella, tomato and basil salad (the mozzarella is made by hand every 90 minutes). Just make sure to save some room for dessert – The Capital Grille's signature brûlée-style cheesecake is not to be missed.
The Capital Grille is open Monday through Thursday from 11:30 to 10pm, Friday from 11:30am to 11pm, Saturday from 5 to 11pm and Sunday from 5 to 9pm.
