Say hello to St. Louis' newest juice bar.

Hello Juice & Smoothie is now open at 1000 S. Newstead Ave, just shy of The Grove neighborhood.

True to its name, the concept focuses primarily on fresh-squeezed juices, smoothies and bowls alongside a short but sweet list of salads and toasts. Co-owners Jordan and Kayla Bauer debuted the juice bar after a year of pop-up tastings at local restaurants and bars; with the brick-and-mortar location, they hope to bring something new to the area.

"Juice bars often feature such a grab-and-go culture, but Kayla and I love hanging out in more relaxed coffee bars," Jordan says. "We wanted this to be more lounge-like than other juice bars."

To that end, Hello features mixed seating including bar stools, two-tops and couches. A conference room with seating for eight to 10 people is currently under construction, and when the basement opens this winter, it will feature a kids' area and an even more relaxed vibe with hammocks.

From the bar, a handful of seasonal fresh-pressed juices are available each day; a recent offering highlighted strawberry, pineapple and orange with a hint of ginger. Hello is no longer selling bottled juices in order to focus on its fresh-pressed juices and smoothies, but Jordan says that could change in the future.

Smoothies are available in cup ($7) or bowl ($9) form, including the bestselling açaí bowl with açaí, blueberry, strawberry, banana, spinach and coconut water, topped with Made Fare Co. granola, blueberry, strawberry, banana, local Bee Simple honey and coconut. Other options include the Instagram-worthy Ocean bowl, which features a bright blue color from blue spirulina (powdered algae), plus a lavender bowl, a cherry-cacao bowl and Dragon bowl made with pitaya.

Loaded toasts, featuring rustic sourdough from Knead Bakehouse + Provisions, are another signature offering. Choose from a classic avocado toast loaded with cherry tomatoes, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and hemp hearts; or banana toast topped with bananas, almond butter and Bee Simple honey. Two salads are on offer, including one with spinach, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, carrots, purple cabbage, strawberries, grain-free crackers, almonds, pecans and housemade balsamic vinegar dressing, and another with green leaf lettuce, cucumber, avocado, cherry tomatoes, red onion, hemp hearts, dill and housemade vegan creamy lemon-dill dressing.

Hello Juice & Smoothie hopes to make its menu seasonal, introducing items like bone broth or superfood lattes this winter.

Hello Juice & Smoothie is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 4pm.
