For just two weekends, a brunch mash-up of sorts is coming to St. Louis.

Executive chef Dale Beauchamp of Half & Half is partnering with the executive chefs of sister restaurants Randolfi's and Público to launch two crossover brunches.

Like Half & Half, Randolfi's (known for its rustic Italian dishes) and Público (serving upscale Latin cuisine) are owned by Mike Randolph, who earned his first James Beard Foundation semifinalist nomination for Best Chef: Midwest last year. By hosting the brunches at Half & Half, Beauchamp hopes regulars at the breakfast and lunch spot will have the opportunity to try something a little different.

"For the New Year, we wanted to find a way to bring all three of the restaurants together," Beauchamp says. "Most of the time at Half & Half, we find that our diners don't know about the connections we have to these two great restaurants."

The first crossover will take place this weekend, Sat., Jan. 28 and Sun., Jan. 29. Randolfi's executive chef Tommy Andrew is set to bring "modern meets traditional" dishes, such as Italian beef benedict and white bolognese lasagna. For the benedict, a toasted English muffin will be topped with shredded beef braised in red wine. Housemade giardiniera and a poached egg draped in hollandaise sauce will complete the dish.

Next weekend, Sat., Feb. 4 and Sun., Feb. 5, executive chef Brad Bardon of Público will occupy the kitchen, bringing Latin-inspired creations to brunch-goers, such as green chorizo empanadas and smoked brisket arepas.

In particular, Beauchamp says he is looking forward to the green chorizo empanadas on next weekend's menu. The crossover brunch dishes will be served on their designated weekends from 8am to 2pm, or until they run out. Half & Half's regular menu will also be available.

"I hope people come out and get to try these creative dishes," Beauchamp says. "They will be representative of the flavors and food you'd experience at Randolfi's and Público, and by thinking outside of the box, we are going to be creating some pretty amazing brunch combinations."
