The owners of Wang Gang Asian Eats in Edwardsville, Illinois, are gearing up to launch a new venture: Primo's Italian Garage + Catering, a delivery concept that focuses on family-style Italian meals in Edwardsville and Glen Carbon.
Ryan O'Day, president and operating partner of Wang Gang and Primo's, says the new service is intended to take the time and work out of serving quality and flavorful meals in a hurry at home. Set to debut in April, Primo's will offer customers cooked-to-order meals including a pasta entrée, a salad with your choice of dressing or other side and a 12-inch loaf of bread meant to feed three. Primo's fresh pasta will be sourced from Midwest Pasta Co. on Cherokee Street and prepared in the Wang Gang kitchen.
"Primo's Italian Garage is delivery only, family-style, chef-driven pasta," O'Day says. "That means it feeds two to three people and it’s affordable. We’ll start small with eight or nine main menu items."
O'Day says that down the line he and his team are also looking into adding wine to Primo's list of offerings.
The business will also feature a catering service offering "any menu" at "any venue" in the greater St. Louis area. Because the delivery concept requires such little overhead cost, O'Day hopes to establish Primo's franchises in the St. Louis area and beyond.
"It saves you prep time and money," he says. "It’s about getting back to the dining room table."
