Pumpkin-lovers, listen up:
Silver Dollar City has a festival just for you.
The park’s annual Harvest Festival kicked off last week but with a new twist: Pumpkin Nights. During Pumpkin Nights, the rides stay open into the night and the park is illuminated with thousands of vivid pumpkins.
There are glowing spiders with pumpkin bodies suspended in webs above the crowds, luminous owls crafted with stacked pumpkins, giant inflatable scarecrows that sway in the air and, of course, lots of pumpkin-themed foods.
Sam Hedrick, Silver Dollar City's director of food and beverage, says they developed the menu about a year ago and it features 20 new items – most of which are pumpkin-flavored.
Here are a few standouts on the menu.
The Harvest Festival with Pumpkin Nights is now underway Wednesday through Sunday through Oct. 26.

Churros are another favorite. The new pumpkin spice churros at Silver Dollar City have pumpkin spice in the batter and the fried dough is served with pumpkin fluff for dipping. This was one of the best-selling items on opening week, Hedrick says.
Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls
Eva & Delilah’s Bakery has long been home to the park’s giant cinnamon rolls, and the bakery is also offering pumpkin cinnamon rolls this year. These mega-rolls are moist and kissed with pumpkin spice.
At Eva & Delilah’s Bakery, you can score pumpkin cake pops dipped in white chocolate, which Hedrick says really sets off the pumpkin spice flavor inside. The pumpkin cupcakes were another guest favorite during the first few days of the festival.
Pumpkin Funnel Cake
An amusement park wouldn’t feel the same without funnel cake, and Silver Dollar City gives the classic carnival food a fall twist with the pumpkin funnel cake. “We are really proud of.it. There is pumpkin in the batter and then pumpkin spice in the cream cheese frosting that we use to decorate it,” says Hedrick.
Pumpkin Whoopie Pies
Of the new items, Hedrick’s personal favorite are the massive pumpkin-flavored whoopie pies filled with vanilla buttercream. “That is my go-to my guilty pleasure. It has the right balance of pumpkin but the vanilla cream center really compliments it,” he says.
Pumpkin Spice Kettle Corn
Love kettle corn? Stop in at Frisco Popcorn Co. for pumpkin spice kettle corn. “We have some pumpkin extracts we’ve come across that we are using in the popping process. We actually pop a batch with pumpkin and those are orange, and then we do a batch of pumpkin pie spice and they are mixed together so you get dual color and flavor,” says Hedrick.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
The park added new premium coffee service this year, which includes pumpkin spice lattes available at Eva & Delilah’s Bakery. Hedrick says it's a necessity during the fall.
Pumpkin Ice Cream
If the heat wave continues, cool off with a scoop of the pumpkin ice cream at Hannah’s Ice Cream Factory. Hedrick describes it as like eating frozen pumpkin pie.
And just for fun, grab a glow-in-the-dark drink. “It’s a neat effect. With the night event, we have some UV lights and black light effects through the park. We figured out a way to make the berry punch react to the UV lights. Pinterest is a great tool,” Hedrick says with a laugh.
