Sugarfire Smoke House is coming to Cape.
Mike Johnson's popular barbecue spot, which has five St. Louis-area locations and one in Washington, Missouri, will open in Cape Girardeau at 118 Siemers Dr. in June. Johnson is partnering with Jim Cook and Matt Martin, owner-operators of Sugafire in Valley Park and O'Fallon.
"We couldn't be more excited to begin our project in Cape,” Martin said in a statement. “It’s such a neat town with so many great people living in it. We believe Sugarfire will be a good fit here and simply cannot wait for opening day to share our culinary barbecue concept with the community of Cape Girardeau."
The new location is currently being built from the ground up: It will seat 100, with a garden patio with seating for 40. It will also feature a 360-degree bar, so that guests can enjoy drinks while waiting for barbecue. The menu will remain the same as the other locations and feature Billy Goat Chip Co., 4 Hands Brewing Co., Urban Chestnut Brewing Co. and more.
