Feast Magazine announced today that Sarah Fenske has been hired as its director of digital content. Fenske is currently editor in chief of the L.A. Weekly and will be relocating to St. Louis in November to take on her new role at the magazine, which recently more than doubled its circulation to cover the entire state of Missouri as well as eastern Kansas and southern Illinois.

"I've had an amazing three years in California, but I'm looking forward to getting back to the Midwest and being a part of the extraordinary team at Feast," she said. "To be increasing print circulation in the 2014 media landscape is almost unheard of — and the online possibilities are just as exciting. I'm thrilled to be a part of what Catherine, Liz and the rest of the team are building."

A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Fenske served as managing editor of the Riverfront Times in St. Louis from 2010 to 2011. She has also worked as a writer and columnist in Cleveland, Houston and Phoenix. A two-time finalist for an IRE Award, in 2011 she won the Livingston Award for Young Journalists for her work exposing corruption at the housing authority in Phoenix.

As director of digital content, Fenske will be responsible for overseeing and further developing Feast's digital presence, which will be a key part of its ongoing expansion.

"We are thrilled to welcome Sarah to the Feast team," said publisher Catherine Neville. "She brings with her a deep understanding of digital journalism and as we expand, we see as an integral part of our ongoing connection and expanding conversation with Feast's regional audience."
