Rye's lemon-meringue pie. Katie's Pizza & Pasta's fiori arrabiatta. Harold's Doughnuts' baked donut holes. These are just a few of the recipes we're excited to share with you in Extra Helping, a new community-sourced cookbook from Feast and Small Circle Recipes.
Two weeks ago, as the COVID-19 outbreak forced bars, restaurants, breweries and other businesses to close for dine-in service, we announced the project as a way to help hospitality industry employees affected by the novel coronavirus. Everyone who makes a donation to Extra Helping will receive a digital copy of the finished cookbook, and all fundraising dollars from this project will be donated to the Gateway Resilience Fund in St. Louis and Chef Collective KC in Kansas City.
Today, we're thrilled to announce that we've raised nearly $5,000 to support these organizations, and there's still time to participate: Our deadline for recipe submissions has been extended to Mon., April 13 at 4pm.
