Global Brew Tap House, the craft beer bar that currently has locations in Edwardsville, Illinois, and O'Fallon, Illinois, plans to open a third location in suburban St. Louis this summer.

The bar will be located in Rock Hill, Missouri, at 9578 Manchester Rd. in the Market at McKnight development, as first reported by the St. Louis Business Journal.

It's the first franchise for Global Brew, which is owned by husband-and-wife team Ryan and Laura High.

"We think of it as our third baby, but we’re the step-parents," Laura High says. "We get to watch and play along."

To that end, High says that franchises like the one in Rock Hill will mirror what the two original tap rooms in Illinois do.

"They'll have the same great patio, 50 beers on tap and another 200 in bottles from both in the United States and across the world," she says.

The same standards will apply for training, too. All Global Brew employees are Certified Beer Servers through the Cicerone Certification Program.

Global Brew hopes to open between 10 and 12 franchises in the next two years. Those won't necessarily be in the immediate area, either – High says the company has fielded inquiries from as far away as Texas.

"It just goes to show how excited people are about craft beer," she says.

Global Brew's first location in Edwardsville opened in February 2011, with a second location following in O'Fallon in June 2012.
