Six Mile Bridge Beer now has a familiar St. Louis face leading its kitchen.
The Maryland Heights brewery has announced that Ben Welch – formerly of The Midwestern Meat and Drink, and Feast's St. Louis Chef of the Year in 2019 – has joined the brewery as its executive chef.
"We first met Ben when he opened Big Baby Q just up the road from SMB and couldn't get enough of his food," Six Mile co-owner Ryan Sherring said in a press release. "He is an incredibly talented chef and [we] could not be more proud to have him on the team. This is just the start of exciting projects to come."
Welch's menu will debut at Six Mile Bridge on Tue., Aug. 3, with plenty of his barbecue prowess on display. Dishes will include a corned beef Reuben made with salt-cured brisket slow-cooked in the brewery's dry Irish stout, flash-fried Brussels sprouts with lemon aïoli, a "stuffed taco nacho" with candied jalapeños and more.
Six Mile Bridge is open from 11am to 10pm Tuesday through Saturday.
