Logan Ely and his team are pressing pause on one restaurant and shifting focus to their newest venture.
Ely says that SHIFT, the acclaimed restaurant formerly known as Savage, will go into "hibernation" in a couple of weeks, and the team will move down the street to open his new restaurant, The Lucky Accomplice. The new concept is meant to serve as a casual neighborhood bar and restaurant, in contrast to the upscale menu SHIFT served pre-pandemic.
"I think we will revisit a fine-dining restaurant in the future, but right now we don't need two restaurants," Ely says. "We're not gonna feed anybody in a close, seated environment anytime soon."
Ely hopes to open The Lucky Accomplice by Oct. 1. The menu will feature approachable fare including bar snacks and shareable plates. It will also have its own cocktail menu, alongside a selection of wines and beers.
In the meantime, Ely says that The Lucky Accomplice will feature patio seating, carryout and potentially delivery services, but that the restaurant will probably not serve guests in the dining room until the team feels comfortable doing so.
"We're just kind of shifting it – no pun intended," he says. "We're changing spaces, we're changing menus, we're changing the vibe, but the whole team is together."
And for those who have enjoyed SHIFT's casual curbside menu amid the pandemic, you have until the restaurant's yet-to-be-announced closure date to get your fill.
