Urban Chestnut Brewing Co.'s 10th annual Oktoberfest is still on amid the pandemic, but it's going to a look a little different this year.
According to a press release, the festival will be dubbed "Oktoberfest-lite" and take place over four socially-distanced, capacity-limited events. There will be a maximum of 17 outdoor tables available to reserve for each date at the brewery's Midtown biergarten. Groups of four, six or eight can reserve tables, and each table reservation includes one commemorative 1-liter glass stein, one liter of beer and one German bratwurst platter per person. Live German music will be playing each night, and all of Urban Chestnut's favorite German brews will be available on tap.
“Last year’s Oktoberfest St. Louis was our largest festival in UCBC history, with well over 30,000 attendees,” UCBC co-founder David Wolfe said in the release. “This year’s festival will look a lot different, and be much, much smaller. However, it will be no less authentic. It’s such an important annual celebration of our brewery’s history and identity, so I’m really glad we could put together a plan that will allow us to host a variation of Oktoberfest St. Louis with a safety-first approach for our guests and for our staff.”
Oktoberfest-lite will be held on Sept. 19 and 25 and Oct. 2 and 10. Reservations will be available online on Urban Chestnut's website.
