Perched on a quiet corner in St. Louis’ Shaw neighborhood, Wild Olive Provisions specializes in wine – one of owners Scot Martin and Nerida Wilbraham’s greatest passions – as well as cheese and craft beer. “I would live on cheese, bread and wine if my metabolism would let me,” says Wilbraham with a laugh.

Wozz! Kitchen Creations: From sweet and spicy to bold and savory, the line of handcrafted sauces, dressings and marinades from this New England brand is designed to awaken your palate. Available flavors include Spicy Tomato Kasundi, Vietnamese Green Tea & Mint and Sweet Chili Orange Sesame, but Wilbraham favors the Cambodian Coconut Peanut with chicken or shrimp.
Most of the wine comes from small producers in California and Australia; Martin and Wilbraham draw on their knowledge and personal experience – they both lived in San Francisco for many years as well as Wilbraham’s native Australia – to curate the selection.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Wild Olive Provisions has continued to serve the community – albeit in a more cautious fashion. A majority of the shop’s products are visible from the sidewalk, so customers can window shop and then order their groceries at a window in the door, which Martin built in response to the current situation.
“We’re doing everything we can to keep customers safe but also provide a bit of normality,” says Wilbraham.
