Winslow's Table, the newest concept from Vicia's Michael and Tara Gallina, will begin dinner service Tuesday.

Winslow's Table, which the couple rebranded from Winslow's Home in November, will serve dinner Tuesday through Saturday from 5 to 9pm. Until now, the University City restaurant has only been open for breakfast and lunch.

Tara says that while the menu will still be ingredient-focused, as it is at Vicia, the dinner service as Winslow's Table is "a little more casual." The goal is for Winslow's Table to be a place that community members can make "their spot" and go once a week if they choose, instead of just going for special occasions.

The menu is divided into three sections: starters, mains and "grains and kebabs." While the mains will be more composed dishes, the grains and kebabs section will allow for more meal customization, and these dishes will lend themselves better to sharing.

Starters include an array of cheeses and charcuterie (arranged in a tower if you order both) and a carrot dish served with ricotta, hot honey, sorrel and pea shoots. Main dishes – such as chicken and dumplings with Parisian gnocchi, braised carrots, celery roots and turnips or pork schnitzel and sausage with creamy sauerkraut, braised apples and whole grain mustard – are an elevated take on classic comfort foods. If you want to build your own meal, try pairing a lamb and beef kefta kebab with the sourdough pita dish or the king trumpet mushrooms skewer with the stone ground polenta garnished with Brussels sprouts, Gruyere and a poached egg.

Desserts will highlight the restaurant's focus on pastries and its in-house bakery, with options including Winslow's Table treats served à la mode with scoops of ice cream from Clementine's Naughty & Nice Creamery.

If you're looking to pair your meal with a drink, the restaurant is offering craft beers, wine by the bottle or by the glass and their takes on different classic cocktails, including a "really fantastic" Old Fashioned.

In addition to dinner service, Winslow's Table will soon roll out a dinner option similar to Vicia's "farmer's feast" in the coming weeks. The Vicia version is $55 a person and is served family-style with three courses, but Tara says the Winslow's Table version will likely be "less involved" and be served as one course.

In terms of experience, Tara hopes that the dining experience is the same all day long.

"It's a warm environment, friendly service, great quality food," she says. "A place that you can plan to come, but you can also just pop in at the last minute."

Reservations will not initially be offered, but Winslow's Table will likely have them available by Feb. 1. Regardless, a section of the restaurant will be dedicated to walk-ins every night.
