This spring, supporting one of St. Louis' beloved parks is as easy as, well, a picnic.
Butler's Pantry has teamed up with Tower Grove Park for another year of Picnics in the Park, a partnership designed to encourage people to enjoy the beauty the park has to offer. Every Thursday until May 27, you can purchase a Butler's Pantry-designed picnic meal to pick up and enjoy right in the park. Plus, $5 from every box will go to the Tower Grove Park Foundation.
“We are thrilled to continue this partnership with Butler’s Pantry,” Liz Hickox, director of community programs at Tower Grove Park, said in a press release. “These pop-up events are yet another way for us to live out our mission of providing the St. Louis community with more recreational and cultural opportunities.”
Each personal-size $30 box comes with four courses – appetizer, salad, entrée and a dessert – designed with picnicking in mind. Water, soft drinks, cocktails and beer will also be available for purchase. Boxes must be preordered online each Wednesday by 10am for pickup the following day at Tower Grove Park between 4:30 and 6:30pm.
Catering companies near and far felt the impact of the pandemic.
To celebrate GiveSTL Day on Thu., May 6, Butler’s Pantry will donate an additional $5 for those who show a donation receipt to the Tower Grove Park GiveSTL Day fund. Those who donate will also receive one free Schlafly Park Lager, donated by Schlafly Beer, to go with their picnic meal. Donations from GiveSTL Day will help the horticulture and forestry program to maintain and enhance the park’s 289 acres.
“After a year like no other, Picnics in the Park was one of the ways we were able to create a sense of togetherness and community during a time when we couldn’t gather in traditional ways,” Bridget Bitza, vice president of sales and catering at Butler’s Pantry, said in the release. “The Tower Grove Park community gave us a warm welcome last year and we are happy to come back and provide the same safe, culinary experience for everyone to enjoy while reconnecting with friends and family among the beautiful landscape of Tower Grove Park.”
