You can still participate in your favorite Schlafly beer fests amid the pandemic – things will just look a little different this year.
Schlafly Beer still plans to host its annual HOP in the City festival this fall, but amid the pandemic, the popular tasting festival understandably could not go on as usual. Instead, the brewery is offering two socially-distanced ways to celebrate its brews.
For those who want to celebrate the fest at home, you can order a HOP at Home mixed case from Schlafly and have your own tasting experience at home. The $85 box will be available for pickup from the Schlafly Tap Room in Midtown, and it will include 24 different Schlafly beers. While the full list of flavors hasn't been released yet, you can expect to see both year-round favorites and seasonal releases, as well as the 2020 festival's official beer: the Hazy Pineapple Double IPA. The HOP at Home cases will be available for pickup the week of Sept. 14.
For those who want to celebrate a toned-down version of HOP in the City in person, Schlafly is also offering an in-person socially-distanced package for groups of up to six people. The $250 package includes your own table at the Schlafly Tap Room, a bucket of Schlafly beer, a family-style meal, trivia, games and more.
Similarly, Schlafly is also taking its annual Art Outside fair online. Like HOP in the City, there is an in-person package to celebrate at Schlafly Bottleworks for up to six people for $250. Those who usually like to browse and purchase creations from local artists will also be able to do so online; Schlafly will be collecting donations to be distributed amongst the artists.
“Both Art Outside and HOP in the City are festivals that are highly anticipated by our guests and everyone here at the brewpubs. Celebrating our community over great beer is at the heart of both festivals so we found a way to continue that experience while staying safe and socially distanced,” Schlafly founding brewer Stephen Hale said in the release.
