After a grueling year for the local restaurant industry, 2021 kicked off with some happy news: St. Louis saw more restaurant openings than closings this month. Although many spots continue to "hibernate" for the winter months – a traditionally tough time for restaurants even without a pandemic – we saw several restaurants open additional locations, including St. Louis Kolache and UKRAFT, while others relocated, such as Nami Ramen, Tai Ke and The Pasta House Co.'s flagship. The ghost kitchen trend doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime, either; Mission Taco Joint and River's Edge Social both got into the game this month.
