Eckert's Farms now has its own line of fruit-inspired hard ciders and will build its own cidery next year

Eckert's Farm hard cider

Eckert's Farm's hard cider comes in four flavors, all inspired by fruits grown on the farm.

The signature ciders from Eckert's Farms just got a little more interesting.

The Belleville farm and country store has teamed up with Brick River Cider Co. to turn its signature nonalcoholic cider into boozy versions. Four flavors are available – Well Red (strawberry-apple), Berried Alive (blackberry-apple), Peach and Quiet (peach-apple) and Roadcider (apple) – all inspired by fruits grown on Eckert's farms.

The St. Louis-area farm teamed up with Brick River for this launch, but next year, expect Eckert's to open its own cidery, Eckert's CiderWorks, next to its country store in Belleville. The facility will not only produce the beverages, but guests will be able to enjoy the cider on-site both in cans and on draft.

“For years, guests have asked us to create a line of hard ciders and the demand only increased after we added the cider press,” vice president of retail operations Angie Eckert said in a press release. “With the growing popularity of canned alcoholic beverages, and restrictions and pivots on our pick-your-own fruit season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we decided that 2020 was a good time to dedicate efforts to bringing this idea to life. The goal was to combine the most loved aspects of our farm – our pick-your-own fruits and apple cider – to our guests in a delicious adult beverage. The line of hard cider also brings new opportunities for us here at the farm and we look forward to sharing those with our guests over the next few months.”

You can find Eckert's hard cider for sale in four-packs of 16-ounce cans for $10.99 in the Eckert's country store. Expect Eckert's CiderWorks to open sometime in 2022.
