Crown Candy Kitchen

The Heart-Stopping BLT, made with 14 pieces of kettle-fried bacon, is a popular lunch and dinner item.

Crown Candy Kitchen is a bona fide St. Louis classic. Considered St. Louis' oldest soda fountain, the restaurant has been serving customers since 1913. While it is obviously known for its confections and soda fountain, Crown Candy has also become known for one dish in particular: the Heart-Stopping BLT.

The Heart-Stopping BLT has become a signature dish from the restaurant, both at lunch and dinner. And the name suits it; this take on the classic bacon-lettuce-tomato sandwich features 14 thick-cut slices of bacon before it is topped with lettuce and tomato and is stacked on white toast with Miracle Whip.

A trip to Crown Candy Kitchen also seems incomplete without one of their malts. Whether you like vanilla, chocolate or something a little more fruity, you can find something that strikes your fancy.

Crown Candy Kitchen is offering its menu for takeout and limited dine-in service.
