You can now make some restaurant-inspired recipes at home, thanks to United Provisions

From now until the end of February, the University City grocery store is offering chef-curated meal kits to make delicious dishes at home. The kits give St. Louisans the chance to get hands-on in the kitchen with flavors from around the world.

There are four different meal kits available for purchase:

  • A lentil soup kit from Mohammed Qadadeh of American Falafel, which includes pita, red lentil, turmeric, white pepper, chicken bullion, cumin and corn oil
  • A spring roll kit from Jimmy Trinh of Banh Mi Shop, which includes rice vermicelli, rice papers, crunchy peanut butter, sambal and garlic clove
  • A palak paneer pizza kit from Cary McDowell of Pi Pizzeria, which includes ready-to-serve pizza crust, roasted eggplant, roasted red peppers and garam masala
  • A garlic noodle kit from Qui Tran of Nudo House, which includes JJAJANG noodles, sesame oil, rice cooking wine, oyster sauce, fried garlic and sugar

Each recipe also includes suggested items to purchase to add to each meal that are not included as a part of the kit, all recommended by the chefs themselves. Plus, $2 from every kit goes back to each specific restaurant.

“We’re lucky to be surrounded by so many note-worthy restaurants in the Delmar Loop,” Shayn Prapaisilp, chief operations officer of United Provisions, said in a release. “With college students back on campus and families spending more time at home and in the kitchen, we thought that these cooking kits would be a fun winter activity for people who are not dining out at their favorite restaurants. We’re grateful to help support our neighboring restaurants through the sale of these cooking kits so that we can donate back to the chefs and their staff who make our dining scene so beautifully diverse.”

Stop by United Provisions to pick up one of the kits, or call the store for more information.
