As we gear up for summer, more and more restaurants are coming out of hibernation and reopening their doors after a temporary hiatus during the pandemic. Pieces, the board game café in Soulard, reopened in late April, while Kingside Diner relocated just down the street to the prime Central West End spot recently vacated by Gamlin Whiskey House. Crab's Landing is also breathing new life into the former home of Missouri Bar & Grille downtown, and Lefty's Bagels is bringing New York-style boiled bagels to Chesterfield by way of The Bakers Hub.
Sadly, Wildflower Restaurant shuttered in the Central West End after more than 25 years, and two other spots announced closures this month: Ernesto's Wine Bar, which never reopened after closing for the winter in early January, and Doggie Mac's, which closed its new Carondelet brick-and-mortar space over the weekend (the food truck remains active, however).
Several more exciting concepts are slated to open their doors soon; check out our spring restaurant forecast for details on a few upcoming spots.
