A new, casual dining experience from Gerard Craft is coming to the Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis.

On March 5, Cinder Bar will open adjacent to Cinder House on the eighth floor of the hotel. The bar will focus on shareable plates, new cocktails and South American-inspired nonalcoholic beverages.

According to a press release, the concept was inspired by Craft's recent trip to Brazil. After returning, he wanted to create a casual bar environment that focuses on food.

“In Brazil, these little botecos are everywhere, which is a low key bar that serves cold beer and simple food. You stop by after work and have a beer and a few bites," Craft said in the release. "I was instantly hooked. There is even a competition to see who has the best bar food in the country. I wanted to bring this experience back to Cinder Bar."

Some of the bites at Cinder Bar will include piri piri chicken wings; stuffed dates with bacon, chorizo and aji panca sauce; empanadas with housemade corn dough; and pastels, or savory, fried pastries filled with cheese, hearts of palm, mushrooms and shallots.

The cocktail menu will include familiar South American favorites like a Caipirinha and a Pisco Sour, but will add drinks like the Lemon Batida, made with Novo Fogo Cachaça, Velvet Falernum, lemon juice and coconut milk, and the La Branca, made with Fernet-Branca, anejo tequila, lime and ginger beer.

The new bar will also offer happy hour specials Sunday through Friday from 4 to 6:30pm. Stop by for a Cinder House burger or grilled piri piri chicken sandwich paired with a beer or Caipirinha for $15. Guests can also grab a draft beer, house wine or well drink for $4 during happy hour.
