A year into the pandemic, there's a bit of good news on the St. Louis restaurant scene: Restaurant openings far outweighed closings this month.

In Soulard, Boo Coo is serving up a taste of New Orleans in the form of po'boys, jambalaya and gator bites, while SimplyCookingWithDonna is offering Southern favorites exclusively for curbside pickup and delivery in Downtown St. Louis. A few familiar faces also headed west this month; the owners of Narwhal's Crafted debuted Loaded: Elevated Nachos next door to the St. Charles location of their popular frozen cocktail bar, and pitmaster Alex Cupp brought his famous brisket (among other offerings) to Chesterfield with a new location of Stellar Hog.

In sadder news, the popular Ravanelli's Restaurant closed its doors in Granite City, Illinois, after 60 years, while Han Lao, which has been closed since St. Louis County suspended indoor dining in November, officially closed for good.
