Old Brick House exterior

Old Brick House is housed in the oldest brick structure west of the Mississippi.

The oldest brick building west of the Mississippi River was built in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, in 1785. Since then, it has been a residence, a courthouse and a school, but its most recent iteration is the American restaurant Old Brick House, which has become a town staple after decades of service.

The fried chicken is a fan favorite, but if you’re especially hungry, try the famous 40-ounce steak – it can feed up to four people, but it’s fine if you want to tackle it all by yourself.
