While a few of Riad’s entrées reflect classic bar and grill fare, there’s unmistakable Mediterranean flavor blended into the entire menu. Burgers and wings are in the lineup, but the baba ganoush, dolma and fresh salads with Feta and Kalamata olives are just as appealing.
To sample an array of flavors, we suggest ordering the gyro platter: Delicately sliced gyro meat (a combination of lamb and beef) is nestled in warm pita bread and served with all the toppings you crave. Everything from hummus, baba ganoush and tzatziki to lettuce, tomato and red onion are available to dress up the gyro and create a variety of textures in each bite.
Owner Riad Matar emigrated from Syria to the U.S. when he was 17. From the day he opened the restaurant in Springfield, Missouri, he’s been adamant about making as much as possible from scratch, including the tzatziki and yogurt, or sourcing only the highest-quality ingredients.
