Nothing says fall quite like maple syrup, and no cocktail is the perfect vehicle for maple syrup like an old fashioned. You can use either rye or bourbon, but we tend to like the sweetness of bourbon for this cocktail.
Serves | 1 |
- 2 tsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp water
- 1 dash bitters
- 1 orange peel
- 2 oz whiskey (rye or bourbon)
- 1 brandied cherry
| Preparation | In the bottom of an Old Fashioned glass, combine the maple syrup, water and bitters. Stir until well-blended. Add a block of ice and twist the peel to express the orange oils, then add the peel to the glass. Pour in the whiskey and top with the cherry.
