On Feb. 9, 1964, The Beatles appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show and played their hit song “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” kicking off the British invasion. Decades later, they’re still seen as one of the greatest bands of all time and that performance is legendary. In honor of our British friends, today we’re toasting with the Dubonnet cocktail. This simple drink is meant to highlight the best gin you’ve got, and it is said to be the favored cocktail of Queen Elizabeth II. Jolly good!
Serves | 1 |
- 1 ½ oz gin
- ¾ oz Dubonnet Rouge
- lemon twist, to garnish
| Preparation | Add the gin and Dubonnet Rouge to a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir and strain into a Martini glass, garnish and serve.
