Chelsea Wilkins began selling her handmade pottery and ceramic home goods about a year ago through her St. Louis-based company, Scavenge + Bloom. Wilkins’ goal was to add a touch of whimsy to everyday life through colorful, creative and most importantly, completely functional platters, plates, bowls, napkin rings, travel mugs, tea towels and more.
Each item is made by Wilkins in her basement studio, where she uses a slab roller, a medium-sized kiln and a rainbow of glazes. Items include coasters with hand-drawn quilt-block illustrations, nature-inspired serving platters made with real flowers and weeds embedded into the clay and monogrammed napkin rings embellished with real gold. Her lovely and quality pieces make excellent hostess or holiday gifts, or even just welcome additions to your own kitchen and table.
