CC's Vegan Spot plans to open up a North County grab-and-go only location later this year in the fall. According to owner Trezel Brown, CC's will be North County's first vegan-only restaurant.
"If it wasn't for North County, CC's wouldn't be here today," Brown says. "When I was in Alton, Illinois, I didn't get the support that was needed to keep me afloat. I went further and further in debt, but because it was a passion and a dream, I wouldn't let go. North County came across that bridge [to Illinois] faithfully enough for me to say, don't let go, and they will encourage you."
The new location will include a slimmed-down version of CC's extensive South City location menu, along with various juices and slushies. CC's Vegan Spot serves up vegan-only fare, from burgers to ribs to mac 'n' cheese. Brown plans for the North County spot to be closed on Sundays, but open every other day of the week.

Brown can't disclose the official address of the new location ("I'm just waiting to sign my lease," she says), but she did share that it will be within 10 minutes of the airport, University of Missouri – St. Louis and Boeing.
Giving the residents of North County a healthy, meatless option has been high on Brown's to-do list since she launched CC's. "I care about the health of our people," she says. "We have to come away from what we're used to eating and eat better. We can still get the same-tasting food, but no animals are harmed."
This new location isn't the only thing in the works for CC's. People have reached out to Brown about franchising CC's locations in places from California to New York to Tennessee, and there are two offers that she's seriously considering. Her future plans are this: own two or three CC's locations locally in St. Louis, and then franchise the rest out across the country. However, Brown insists that she won't be handing over her recipes to these franchises – instead, she'll buy a building strictly for production and cook everything herself to ship to the various locations.
Those plans are far in the future, though; right now, just look out for the official announcement of where CC's new North County location will be.
