Chef Jo Marie Scaglia has spent the past month steadily ramping up her offerings at Caffetteria, and her particular brand of bright, flavorful and healthy eats seems right in tune now that warmer weather is in the forecast.
Open Monday through Saturday from 11am to 7pm, Caffetteria offers no-contact curbside pickup from its regular menu as well as some larger bulk family meals that come in two different sizes.
Recently, Caffetteria rolled out an impressive list of grocery items that will save customers a trip to the store. Look for pantry, produce and grocery items ranging from Scaglia's popular jars of sangria to rolls of toilet paper.
One of the unexpected joys found on Caffetteria's grocery list are Scaglia's wide variety of housemade sauces, dressings and dips, like hummus and pimento cheese, that can take any protein or vegetable hiding in your refrigerator to a flavorful new place. Made-from-scratch sauces like Thai peanut, Chinese hoisin, Italian pesto and Argentinian chimichurri will give a pop of global flavor to chicken and broccoli, which are also sold through the restaurant's grocery.
Individual meal delivery is available via DoorDash app or through the Caffetteria website. Customers who live within 8 miles of the restaurant in the Prairie Village Shops can get grocery items delivered if the order totals $50 or more.
If you don’t feel like cooking, the regular Caffetteria menu offers all the delicious sandwiches, salads, bowls, plates and pizzas you have enjoyed in the restaurant, including the breakfast menu with overnight oat and chia bowls, an egg sandwich, topped toasts and sweet potato hash.
The family meals, which are made fresh daily on-site, are designed to appeal to everyone in the family. Recent options have included pulled pork or black bean and sweet potato enchiladas, meatball grinders and lasagna (either spinach and cheese or Italian sausage and cheese), with a small feeding 1-2 people for $12 and a large feeding 4-6 for $45. Add a house Italian salad or baguette for an additional price to make it a meal.
