Kansas Citians welcomed back the much-loved Charlie Hooper’s this month after a fire left the restaurant closed for several months for repairs. There are also a number of brand-new options for diners and drinkers as well, including Irish-minded The Craig in Parkville and Stone Canyon Pizza in Gladstone. In the Crossroads, the Springfield transplant Grad School is offering cashew chicken and sandwiches, while Streetcar Grille & Tavern is serving sandwiches, salads and a selection of refined appetizers like Gouda-stuffed tater tots and agave bar nuts. Leawood, Kansas, residents also got their very own Shake Shack this month, while Tropical Smoothie Café also opened its doors just down the street.
Diners can look forward to the imminent openings of the plant-based Pirate’s Bone Burgers, as well as chef Carlos Falcon’s Sayachi Sushi and Oyster Bar in Brookside, which is slated to open Sept. 5.
