When it comes to Thai food, pad Thai and curries are always delicious, but there is so much more to explore. In Kansas City, there are few places better for taking a deep dive into regional Thai fare than Baramee Thai Bistro.
The Hoffmans opened Mali Thai Bisto in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, in 2015 and Baramee Thai Bistro in the Crossroads a few years later.
Chef-owner Nutnisa Hoffman recently opened a new location, Phikul Thai Bistro in Kansas City's River Market, so local diners have even more opportunities to try some new dishes. If you're looking for a suggestion to branch out of your usual takeout order, opt for one of Hoffman's personal favorites: pad ka prao.
Hoffman's pad ka prao features stir-fried ground beef, sweet basil leaves, green beans, ground chiles, garlic and house sauces served over rice and topped with a pan-fried egg. The spice of the stir fry is countered by the white rice, and a runny egg yolks helps to bind all the flavors into one perfect bite. If beef isn't your thing, you can also get this dish with chicken, pork or tofu.
Baramee also offers a wide variety of other comforting Thai dishes, including pad grapow, tom yum and a rich red curry.
Baramee Thai Bistro is offering its menu for takeout and limited dine-in service.
