Oktoberfest, arguably the biggest of the beer-centric holidays, is bound to look a little different this year amid the COVID-19 pandemic. But in Kansas City, one brewery is offering a kit to celebrate the occasion at home.
KC Bier Co., which typically offers the largest traditional celebration of Oktoberfest in town, is offering an Oktoberfest to-go kit, dubbed "Prost in Place," so that Kansas Citians can cheers to fall at home or in small gatherings. For $60, you can pick up the pack, which includes a case of the brewery's Vienna-style Festbier, four half-liter Oktoberfest mugs, a giant Bavarian pretzel served with mustard, a link to a Spotify playlist curated for the occasion and even a a lyric sheet for "Ein Prosit," the traditional German bier toast. Some fun will also be had through social media; those who post a video selfie of them singing the German song and tag the brewery will have a chance at some prizes.
Prost in Place will be offered for pickup over two weekends: Sept. 17 and 18 and Sept. 24 and 25. The to-go kits can be ordered online for pickup.
