Restaurants aren’t the only food businesses pivoting to a new profit model to stay viable during these uncertain times – wholesale food companies are making the leap, too.

The latest is Kansas City-based Paris Brothers Specialty Foods, who also owns Parisi Coffee and Mother Earth Coffee. The company has pulled operational pieces from each of its family-owned food and beverage businesses to launch an easy to use e-commerce site offering shelf-stable food items, made-from-scratch pastries and baked goods, freshly roasted coffee, cleaning supplies and, perhaps most importantly, toilet paper, delivered direct to the consumer.

“We are leveraging our existing warehouse and delivery infrastructure used for B2B grocery store and restaurant clients to provide consumers with a stay-at-home delivery option so desperately needed at this historic time,” Paris Brothers CEO Joe Paris said in a statement.

The company's corporate chefs select every piece of fresh, restaurant-quality produce on offer, in addition to making all of the pastries available on the new website. It should be noted that Paris Brothers is one of the largest specialty cheese consolidators and stocking distributors in the U.S., with nearly 600 specialty cheese items.

In addition to products from imported Italian brand, Cervasi, there are an impressive amount of locally made products like salsa from Margarita’s and Manny’s restaurants, pasta sauces from Cascone’s and Scimeca’s, Fiorella’s Jack Stack barbecue sauce, Hereford House steak sauce, Yoli tortillas and chicken breasts, ground beef, KC Strip steaks and pork tenderloins from Bichelmeyer Meats.

Also available are bags of Mother Earth and Parisi Coffee, and a wide variety of CBD products, cleaning supplies and, as promised, two different kinds of toilet paper available by the roll, with additional items added to the e-commerce site daily.

The home delivery service is available for next day delivery Monday through Friday within a 30-mile radius of downtown. Orders over $100 receive free delivery, and smaller orders are only $15 for front-door service.

Paris Brothers also recently introduced no-contact pickup. When placing your order, simply choose pickup from the menu, and they will let you know exactly when your order will be ready. Pickup is free, with no minimum order. Customers will simply call 816.455.2164 upon arrival, and a team member will bring the order directly to the car, to be placed either in the trunk or left car-side to ensure absolutely zero personal contact.

“This is our way of ensuring people have a safe and dependable way of receiving household products, while maintaining social distance,” Paris said.

Next-day delivery is available Monday through Friday. Pickup is available Tuesday through Friday at the Parisi Kitchens (710 W. 24th St.).
