Yappy Hour Kick-off at Mission Taco Joint South Plaza
"This summer, patio happy hours have a new purpose. Mission Taco Joint, the West Coast-style street food concept serving tacos, burritos and tortas will partner with Wayside Waifs, Kansas City’s largest no-kill animal shelter, to host a weekly Yappy Hour, on Mondays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the South Plaza location (5060 Main St. Kansas City, MO 64112). Mission Taco Joint and Wayside Waifs will host a kick-off party for the partnership on Saturday, June 22 (since the first official day of summer is on Friday, June 21) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with adoptable pups outside of the restaurant. There will be dog bowls and treats from Three Dog Bakery like the Dogo Tacos and Mar’grr’ita Pupcakes (while supplies last) for visiting patio pups. 20% of profits from both the Saturday kick-off and Mondays throughout summer will be donated to Wayside Waifs." "To celebrate the release of our newest kettle sour, Sunshine!, we are hosting a Solstice & Tiki party equipped with custom Tiki glasses! Party will be going on all night and $10 buy the beer, keep the glass specials will be available until supplies are completely gone. We'll see you in the brewery!" From 5 to 11pm.
"Join us at Messenger Cafe / Ibis Bakery every Friday evening this summer for Cheese Slipper Night! Slipper is the french translation of the word Ciabatta, ours is then filled with fontina, cheddar, and gruyere cheeses and topped with a rotating selection of local vegetables. Grab your friends, score a piping hot slipper fresh from the oven and pop up to the rooftop with some great wine or beers and enjoy the sunset. Save room for our rotating dessert selection provided by the Ibis pastry team - think homemade ice cream sandwiches among other delicious treats! "Summer is here! June is the perfect month to explore the wonderful world of Rosé. This month the American Wine Society Kansas City Chapter celebrates Rosé. We will learn how the wines are made, stored and understand aromas and flavors. It is going to be a fun afternoon full of friends, fun and Rosé! Visitors are welcome to attend.
