If fresh fish is what you crave during the coronavirus quarantine, check out the offerings from chef Carlos and Sayaka Falcon’s popular Latin-inspired seafood restaurants. Both Jarocho Pescados y Mariscos in Kansas City, Kansas and Jarocho South in Kansas City, Missouri, are open for takeout, curbside pickup and delivery Tuesday through Saturday from 11am to 8pm and Sunday from 11am to 3pm.
The couple just launched a new discounted menu and added a pay-what-you-can section to the carryout menu to make sure everyone eats during this time. The latter highlights Mexican caldos (soups) including red pozole, menudo and fish soup.
The new menu features all of Jarocho's most popular seafood dishes at an amazing price. You’ll want to order a few things, starting with appetizers like blue crab queso, grilled baby octopus and shrimp cucaracha made with jumbo shrimp that are flash-fried and tossed in spicy sauce.
Four refreshing kinds of ceviche and four fresh seafood cocktails are on offer, along with a whole grilled fish of the day available for $10 per pound. Ask for the chef’s selection when you call to place your order.
For dinner entrees, choose from the fish of the day grilled and topped with seafood cream sauce or try it Veracruz-style and get a steamed fish filet topped with tomato, onion, capers, jalapeños and olives. You can also opt for the amazingly tender grilled Spanish octopus and seafood paella.
Want to feed the whole family? The Family Pack feeds four people for only $40. Pick any two menu items, which will come with rice, beans, salad, tortilla chips and guacamole.
Jarocho also offers a large selection of Mexican beers for carryout, so you can make your meal a private party at your place.
