Snead's Bar-B-Que

Snead’s Bar-B-Que was a labor of love for original owner Bill Snead. He personally designed and constructed both the 80-seat restaurant and the brick barbecue pit out back. Snead’s Bar-B-Que was built in 1956 on a quiet corner of his family farm at Holmes Road and 171st Street in Belton, Missouri. The walls of the original dining room were made from Missouri walnut, and the counter was finished in cherry wood. Over the next 60 years, Snead continued to grow his popular barbecue spot, expanding the space in 1972, and again in 1991, until it would finally seat 200 customers. Snead passed away in 1994, but the current owner, Sherry Siscoe, ensures his barbecue specialties like burnt ends, known as “brownies,” and St. Louis-style pork ribs with hand-cut fries and barbecue beans live on.
