Papadoo’s Soul Food Dishes

Fried shrimp and fried chicken served at Papadoo’s Soul Food.

There aren't too many spots for soul food in Columbia, so when you find a good one, you will want to go back again and again. Papadoo's Soul Food and BBQ Kitchen is no exception. The menu is fairly small, with a selection of platters, po'boys and sides, but owner Joshua Williams Sr. also offers a selection of daily specials, such as a fried lobster tail, crawfish- and shrimp-stuffed baked potato, oxtails and gumbo. And while you can't predict was special will catch your attention, you'll be satisfied any day of the week by going for one of Papadoo's platters.

Platters are the heart of Williams' menu, which means that they offer a variety of his star dishes. Depending on what you are craving, you can choose from a selection of fried catfish, fried shrimp and fried chicken. The Papadoo's Platter in particular gives you a sampling: one fried catfish filet, two large chicken wings and three fried shrimp.

All platters also come with two sides, so you can indulge in corn, green beans, fried okra, baked beans or mac 'n' cheese, plus a few other options, based on what you're feeling.

Papadoo's Soul Food and BBQ Kitchen is offering its menu for takeout, delivery and limited dine-in service.
