If you're looking for a sweet treat in Jefferson City, there is no place to go that's quite like Central Dairy. This ice cream shop has been serving up scoops in mid-Missouri since the 1920s, when it first started in Columbia. Since 1934, the dairy has been at the same location on Madison Street, and it's still providing ice cream from its now-famous counter. And if you're looking to grab some frozen delights today, we recommend doing so at Central Dairy.
Just stopping by for a scoop? Central Dairy offers its ice cream for $2.50 for a small and just $3.50 for a large. Flavors include classics like vanilla, chocolate and butter pecan, but if you want to go a little more creative, spring for the Tiger Tracks (golden ice cream with chocolate-coated cookies, chocolate truffles and fudge stripes) or the salted caramel toffee crunch. You can also grab a sundae, banana split or an assortment of shakes and malts.
But given that ice cream is a perfect pairing for just about any flavor of pie, we recommend picking up a pint or two to enjoy at your Thanksgiving celebration.
Central Dairy is offering its menu for takeout and limited dine-in service.
