Vincent Van Doughnut, the acclaimed donut food truck and shop, is headed to The Grove.

The shop, which was originally a food truck and expanded to a brick-and-mortar location in Clayton last year, will open its second location at 1072 Tower Grove Avenue.

Owner Vincent Marsden tells Feast he's had his eye on The Grove. He lived there back in 2003 and says he's watched the neighborhood progress.

"It's been up-and-coming steadily for a long time," Marsden says. "We felt now was a really good time [to open a second shop there]." He adds he's also friendly with Grove businesses like Sauce on the Side and Atomic Cowboy, which has carried Vincent Van Doughnut products.

Marsden says The Grove also offers different opportunities to take advantage of — specifically the nightlife. He says they're discussing the possibility of night hours for the second location, as well as considering obtaining a liquor license to serve donuts and drinks.

But until the plans are set, Marsden says he appreciates the overall positive response to Vincent Van Doughnut.

"The plan all along was to have multiple locations," he says, "but take it slow."
