"I'm vegetarian and wanted to build a restaurant that I would want to eat at," says Bay Tran, owner of the Tree House Vegetarian Restaurant, set to open Fri., June 7, on South Grand.

The eatery will offer "food-forward, contemporary cuisine in a unique setting that focuses on sustainable, seasonal, whole and locally sourced plant-based foods."

Tran says she hopes to "bring St Louisans vegetarian and vegan meal experiences that will rival any casual fine-dining experience that they can have.

"I'm really excited about how much vegan, raw and gluten-free foods we will be serving," she adds.

We've been looking forward to the restaurant since we first chatted with Tran about it last June during a brand-building forum at Enrich. Feast contributing photographer Jonathan Polllack dropped by today for an early look at the space and some of the menu highlights. Check out both in the slideshow above!
