It's the comment card gone virtual. Sqwid is offering a public beta trial version of its Social Hospitality app free to restaurants, hotels, retailers and other hospitality-centered businesses. Pi Pizzaria in St. Louis (along with a second Pi in Washington, D.C.) piloted the app, which integrates with Twitter so businesses can monitor mentions and feedback in real time.
A new feature of the platform, Social Rewards, allows businesses to tailor customer rewards to local events and send these rewards and replies to loyal patrons directly from the app. Restaurants, for example, can create limited-time offers and direct special discounts and deals to Twitter users based on their feedback.
The best part of the free app is that businesses don't need to partner with a third party to offer customer incentives. Any additional revenue they generate stays with the business.
