In the minds of most young American males, Tyler, John and Adam Ottwein are living the dream. As first reported by stlhops.com, the three beer-obsessed brothers are in the process of finalizing a space Downtown to house their retail store and bar, The Saint Louis Beer Revival.

“There are a lot of people that live Downtown that want a better beer selection that’s close by,” says Tyler Ottwein about their choice of location. “There are a few places that do a decent job with beer, but decent isn’t good enough for us.”

Set to open in late summer, The Saint Louis Beer Revival will have a retail beer market that boasts a collection of more than 650 bottles of beer. (“If you know what you’re looking for, you’ll find it," Tyler Ottwein says.) In addition, the Ottwein brothers will also create a pre-Prohibition themed bar where beer geeks can sit and enjoy a curated selection of the market’s army of suds.

“Beer knowledge is extremely important to us,” says Tyler Ottwein, who along with his brother, Adam, worked at Global Brew in Edwardsville. “When a person doesn’t know what they’re selling, it turns you off. We have the knowledge, and the desire, to help everyone from beer nerds to those just getting interested.”

In addition to beer, Ottwein also promises a small selection of house wines and Missouri-based spirits to accommodate the wants of non-beer drinkers.

“If two people out of your group don’t drink beer, that doesn’t mean you should be limited on where you go to grab a drink,” Ottwein explains about the purpose behind carrying wine and alcohol at a beer bar. “But it’s definitely a plus if you like beer.”

Details on the space are still being worked out, and until then, the Ottweins have requested that we withhold the address. We'll let you know as soon as they're ready to release it publicly.
