There were two big news announcements this week on the local food scene, the first coming earlier in the week with reports from local media outlets that Mike Shannon’s Steaks and Seafoods’ new Edwardsville location – first reported by St. Louis Magazine – is getting closer to fruition. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Sauce Magazine picked up on a job posting for a head chef on LinkedIn. Under the post, the company description reveals more about the new restaurant:
"Mike Shannon’s Grill will be a moderately priced, stylish Grill and lounge serving traditional and progressive American fare. It will have a warm, inviting, relaxed table service ambiance, to go along with a lively bar atmosphere. The décor for Mike Shannon’s Grille can be described as contemporary sports themed with one of a kind memorabilia. Mike Shannon’s Grille will be open seven days a week serving both lunch and dinner."
In other news, Tim Bryant of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported today that Whole Foods Market will be occupying the ground floor of the seven-story City Walk apartments at 100 North Euclid Ave in the Central West End. Read the full story here.
