Owners of the now-shuttered Monarch Restaurant in Maplewood have converted the existing 10,000 square feet of space to a private event venue.

A press release issued today cites the upscale environs as being perfect for wedding receptions, charity events, cocktail parties with live music, corporate holiday parties and other special events. Monarch has multiple rooms that are easily configured to accommodate groups from 50 to 400, owners say.

“It’s just a logical fit for us,” says co-owner Aaron Teitelbaum, who began his career in hospitality working with Mark Erker at Catering St. Louis before he left for the CIA in New York. “The building is in a great location, being so close to Forest Park, close to two major highways, has an enormous kitchen and plenty of space to host large events.”

Herbie's Vintage 72’ in the Central West End specializes in off-premise events and will provide the catering for the space.
