With the rise in craft distilling in Missouri and across the nation, more and more events are popping up around town to celebrate all the spirits industry has to offer.
A first-time affair for St. Louis this year, Whiskey In The Winter will feature a mix of tasting and educational opportunities from 6 to 9pm on Sat., Dec. 1, at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis At The Arch.
The event will be highlighted by a grand tasting featuring more than 150 whiskeys, including single malt and blended Scotch, bourbon, Irish, Tennessee, Canadian, Missouri and Japanese whiskeys. Representatives from the sampled whiskeys will be on hand to answer questions and provide insight on their products.
The evening also will include six education seminars by industry experts, whiskey-inspired food stations by the chefs of the Hyatt Regency St. Louis At The Arch, whiskey cocktails created by leading mixologists from local St. Louis restaurants and bars (BC’s Kitchen, Blood & Sand, Mike Shannon’s Steaks and Seafood, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Salt and Sanctuaria) and a “Golden Ticket” selection of prestigious rare whiskeys with a retail value of $100 or more.
