If you ever fantasized as a child about joining the circus – or even still do as adult – you can do just that this week in Downtown St. Louis - for lunch, that is.
The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey is rolling into town, and to kick off the Greatest Show on Earth, they’re offering a chance to share a midday meal with three of their star elephants on Thu., Oct. 11, from noon to 12:30 at the plaza outside of Scottrade Center on Clark Street between 14th and 15th.
You’ll share the streets with the circus’ biggest stars: 43-year-old Karen who weighs in at 8,705 pounds; 18-year-old Bonnie, who tips the scales at 8,720 pounds; and darling 6-year-old Kelly Ann who is a still-growing 8,340 pounds.
The lovely pachyderm ladies will enjoy freshly baked bread, fruits and vegetables, which have been made possible through a donation from Greater St. Louis Restaurant Week (which runs Fri., Oct. 12, to Sun., Oct. 21). St. Louis Restaurant Association members St. Louis Bread Company and Moore Food Distributing will deliver the goodies.
If you just can’t get enough of the circus environment during lunch, consider taking in the whole Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey presents Dragons show! Tickets are available, and performances begin on Thu., Oct. 11 and run through Sun., Oct. 14.
