Zettie’s Confections and ice cream maker Frostbite have come together to bring St. Louisans some sweet dessert relief for the hot summer months ahead.

Marrying two of their signature items, the gourmet shops have created what they call an Ice Cream Sammich.

“[John Clopton, owner of Frostbite] and I met a couple of years ago when both of us were getting started,” says Zettie’s owner Kerri White of the collaboration. “We were thinking of ways that we could work together, when recently he reached out to us to make an ice cream sandwich.”

Pairing Zettie’s Ultimate Chip Cookies with Frostbite’s also-made-from-scratch vanilla ice cream (more pairings and combinations are being tested), the sammiches will be first up for sale at Frostbite’s two-year anniversary party, the Frost Bowl on Fri., April 13, at Flamingo Bowl.

After that, the frozen treats will be available through Frostbite’s new shop-on-wheels tricycle service.

“The cookie is candied, so it has a bite around the edge with a chewy center,” White says. “That, in combination with the creamy ice cream is an explosion of flavors and texture.”
