Families across St. Louis are celebrating holiday traditions that bring them together. Perhaps one of the most brilliant (quite literally) outings is taking a carriage ride through Tilles Park's Winter Wonderland to ooh and ah over the light display.

If the whole gang is heading out, it can be a challenge to get dinner together, bring everyone around the table and then shuffle everyone out the door. Make it easy, and bring home a hot, comforting meal from Filomena's Italian Kitchen.

Filomena's offers a casual, family friendly eat-in experience, but the restaurant also has a specially crafted menu that allows patrons to pick-up and take-home their Italian specialties.

For starters, the arancini - a Filomena's speciality - is bound to become an often-requested favorite. Upon biting into the golden, crispy arancini, the creamy risotto gives way to a rush of Fontina cheese. It's a textured and layered starter that primes you for a hearty main course, such as the chicken parmigiano. A breaded, boneless chicken breast is topped with housemade marinara and a three-cheese blend and baked to juicy, flavorful perfection. Rather than the usual pasta side, this dish is served with a side of risotto - an unexpected and delightful twist.
